Meet the Coaches


Rob Garrett -- Head Coach
         Coach Garrett began his coaching career at Ladue in 1996. During that time, he was named the Missouri Assistant Coach of the Year and one of five national Baseball Coaches Association National Assistant Coaches of the Year. Coach Garrett took the helm for the Rams in 2009. Since that time the Rams have won 190 games and ten conference titles. His team holds the school record for wins in a season (23). He was honored to be named Conference Coach of the Year by his peers six consecutive times and has won the S.L.A.B.A. Coach of the Year honors. Coach Garrett is a former player at Ladue and continued his playing career at Truman State University and Missouri Baptist University. He graduated Missouri Baptist with honors with a degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Athletic Training. He has directed camps and given private lessons since 1994.  During this time, he also coached teams in the S.L.A.B.A. organization, 7 professional players and over 40 collegiate players. He is pleased to be a part of such a great program with a wonderful group of fellow coaches.  Coach Garrett teaches Physical Education at the Ladue Fifth Grade Center and holds a Master's Degree in Sport Management.

    Matt Horn -- Varsity Assistant Coach
        Coach Horn joins the Varsity program after coming to Ladue from University City where he previously coached. Coach Horn serves as a coach for the football Rams as well. He is integral in developing our outfielders and will assist with pitching as well. Coach Horn works in the Social Studies department at the high school.

Chris Saxton -- JV Head Coach
     Coach Saxton began coaching JV baseball at Ladue in 1999.  Before that time, he coached five years at Affton High School.  During these years, he has been a key part in players advancing and excelling at the varsity level and beyond. Coach Saxton teaches history at Ladue High School.

Mike Hill-- JV Assistant Coach
   Coach Hill began his coaching career in 2018. He has taught at Ladue since 1999. He served as captain of both is baseball and football teams at Truman High school in Kansas City where he caught the eye of professional scouts. He has coached at the youth level in past years.
